In addition to solutions for image processing, there are always test objects that need to be visually inspected and evaluated by humans.
For this area of visual inspection, our LED lights are specially tailored to the needs of backlight or transmitted light inspection by humans.
Due to the various applications of our light tables, we offer 2 different versions:
This assembly is designed for harsh environments or for the food or medical sectors, as the smooth and sturdy housing is easy to clean. The 5 mm thick, anti-glare cover plate provides a comfortable working surface.
As an accessory, the external controller for switching and dimming is recommended. It can be placed flexibly at the workstation.
This is precisely where our strength lies. Because planistar manufactures the lights in-house, we can produce customised backlighting with short delivery times.
So you don't have to follow our standard programme. We adapt exactly to your requirements and the conditions on site.
This saves you costs in theOur production processes are planned in such a way that a customised light has almost the same throughput as a standard light. The only difference is that the customised luminaire is precisely documented. This means that we are able to supply replacements even years later.
Benefit from the co-operation with planistar.
Lights direct from the manufacturer
In the revision of our product series, we consistently incorporate sustainability, as even the smallest details add up to create a significant whole.
This includes everything from resource and energy conservation, the careful selection of materials we use, to packaging and disposal.
Backlighting for visual inspection is now used in many areas of the manufacturing industry. We have compiled a small selection of applications from our customers.
Translucent materials are illuminated with a suitable light source for this process. The goal is the detection of:
Brightness and light color must be tailored to the respective test object. The features to be detected should neither be too bright (overexposure) nor too dark when illuminated.
For translucent trays, backlighting is helpful to detect incorrect placements more easily and safely. This tool enhances the contrast between correct and incorrect placements, which reduces eye strain and helps maintain the employee's focus.
For assemblies such as printed circuit boards, backlighting enables clear identification of missing or incorrect components.
Inspection of edges and borders
In this process, the test objects are placed on a light surface to enhance the contrast, making it easier to identify the edges. The inspection checks for:
The light should not be too bright in this case either, as it would cause the edges to be overexposed. The features would then no longer be visible.
Typical inspection task when assessing reflective test objects
The light is directed towards the viewer (a mix of transmitted and reflected light) and reflects off the object. This creates a good contrast with the features to be identified. These include:
The light source must be chosen in the correct size, as otherwise, especially with irregularly shaped test objects, the reflection and thus the inspection area may be too small. The correct brightness is also crucial. We recommend a dimmable version.
When inspecting glossy surfaces, we have the option to print rigid patterns onto the light surface. This allows the detection of even the finest irregularities. The type of print (stripes, grid, size) can be customized to meet customer specifications.
Our team will be at your disposal for any questions you may have. We will process your request as soon as possible.
