Hygienic Design creates optimal hygienic conditions to minimize the contamination of food, pharmaceutical products, or other sensitive materials. Typical features of Hygienic Design include smooth and easy-to-clean surfaces.

From the design stage of our standard lighting solutions, we prioritize smooth surfaces without unnecessary edges.

Hygienic Design goes a step further. Through special housing modifications, we adapt our lights to meet the often very different requirements of our customers.

For this sector, there are no real standard products at planistar, as applications and requirements vary greatly.
We rely on standard products and optimize them for our customers' specific needs, ensuring they integrate seamlessly into our customers' work environments.

Housing Material and Coating

The housing is generally made of stainless aluminum at planistar. This serves both for the efficient heat dissipation of the LEDs and for corrosion resistance.

The powder coating is highly resistant to chemicals (96% ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, diesel, seawater, etc.).

Stainless steel housing

Upon request, housings made of stainless steel can also be manufactured according to the standards for the food industry.

Since we do not produce these housings ourselves, a longer planning phase and delivery time should be considered.

Front and covers

Depending on customer requirements, these can be made from various materials:

Acrylic glass
Makrolon
ESG, VSG glass (if possible)

In the hygienic design, the acrylic glass or makrolon sheets are not laser-cut, but rather milled. This prevents internal stresses in the material, and during cleaning with alcohol, no cracks are formed.

Screws and accessories

Wherever possible, visible screws or cable entries are made of stainless steel in Hygienic Design. This reduces the surface area for contamination.

We use materials from HEINRICH KIPP WERK GmbH & Co. KG, among others.

This is precisely where our strength lies. Because planistar manufactures the lights in-house, we can produce customised backlighting with short delivery times.

So you don't have to follow our standard programme. We adapt exactly to your requirements and the conditions on site.

Our production processes are planned in such a way that a customised light has almost the same throughput as a standard light. The only difference is that the customised luminaire is precisely documented. This means that we are able to supply replacements even years later.
